Parks+Green Spaces

Redland Green and Cotham Gardens are our highly valued open spaces and over the years, RCAS have pursued a programme of extensive re-invigoration of these parks.

Our area is well below the 18 sq m per person provision standard which Bristol has adopted through the Parks and Green Spaces Strategy, having only 4.28 sq m per person. However, according to the Quality of Life surveys, the level of satisfaction with the parks in our area is very high!

RCAS supports the Friends of Cotham Gardens group, which has workparty days to maintain and clean the park and the Lovers’ Walk/ Redland Grove green space.

RCAS supports Redland Green improvements through funding for projects in co-ordination with the Redland Green Community Group. RCAS and the RGCG members carry out working party activities such as bulb planting.

RCAS promotes enhancements to the Lovers’ Walk greenspace, grass verges and areas such as the top of Elm Lane, by tree and bulb planting, bench and litter bin provision and working parties to clean, clear and maintain these areas.
